- Is my transaction safe?
All order information sent to MayaDavies.com is encrypted; we use Secure Sockets Layer/SSL technology to protect your transaction.
- Do I need a PayPal account to pay?
No, you don't need a PayPal account to pay at checkout. Our PayPal account accepts customers' credit card payments.
- What is your jewelry made of?
We only use real gemstones and sterling silver for our beads and findings. We notify our customers when other metals are used.
- What is sterling silver?
Sterling silver is 92.5% silver and 7.5% other metal (usually copper, zinc or nickel). Silver in its purest form (99%) is too soft to hold its form; therefore it is hard to work with and doesn't hold up well in daily life.
- Do you accept custom orders?
Please e-mail info@mayadavies.com with the subject "Custom Order" and detailed information about your wish. You will be notified within seven days via e-mail whether we can fulfill your wish or not.
- Can I return or exchange the jewelry?
Because we only carry a limited number of pieces in our inventory, we can accept returns only under very specific circumstances. Items must be returned within seven days of purchase in new, unworn, resalable condition and in original packaging. We then will issue full refund less shipping and handling.
- How do I care for the gemstones and silver jewelry?
- We recommend that you put your jewelry individually in a jewelry pouch or plastic bag to minimize contact with air (which can tarnish the piece) or other jewelry. Treat and wear your jewelry gently, as silver is soft and scratches easily. Gemstones present different levels of hardness (measured on the in Mohs scale, with diamond the hardest - 10 - and talc the softest - 1). Be careful when you store your gemstones with other pieces, as they can scratch one another.
- Avoid contact between your jewelry and hot water, cleaning chemicals, perfume or hairspray. Remember to put your jewelry on last after makeup.
- It is highly recommended that you take off your jewelry before taking shower, exercising, swimming or housecleaning.
- Use water and mild soap to clean your gemstones and silver. A soft brush sometimes can be used to clean crevices. Pat dry with a jewelry-cleaning cloth.
- To polish silver, use soft polishing cloth for silver only (they're available through retailers and jewelry stores).
